Privacy Policy
Air Tennis is designed around nearby, face-to-face play. This policy describes the data used by the current iOS version of Air Tennis, based on a review of the application code.
Summary
Air Tennis does not include advertising, third-party analytics SDKs or developer-operated tracking. Most game data remains on your device. Some features use Apple services, and nearby multiplayer shares limited game information directly with the other player.
Information you provide
Player profile
You choose a player name, playing hand and, optionally, a profile photo. These are stored locally on your iPhone using system storage. Your full profile photo is not transmitted to the other player by the current version.
Nearby match identity
When you create a nearby match, your player name, a shortened random profile identifier and the selected match format are made discoverable to nearby Air Tennis devices. When a match is played, game events and player names are exchanged directly between the two connected devices.
Match history
Opponent name, score, match format and play date are saved locally on your device. Your wall-training high score is also saved locally.
Device permissions and sensors
Motion
Air Tennis reads device motion from the accelerometer and gyroscope to detect swings and estimate shot intensity. Motion samples are processed on the device and are not stored as a motion history or sent to the developer.
Apple Watch companion
The reviewed project includes an optional Apple Watch companion. When used, it processes watch motion to detect a swing and sends the resulting swing-intensity value to the paired iPhone through Apple WatchConnectivity. It does not send raw motion samples to the developer.
Local network, Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth
Air Tennis uses Apple’s MultipeerConnectivity framework to discover and connect nearby devices. Depending on the devices and network conditions, Apple may use the local Wi‑Fi network, peer-to-peer Wi‑Fi or Bluetooth. The connection requires local-network permission. Gameplay data sent between devices uses an encrypted MultipeerConnectivity session.
Photos
If you choose to add a profile picture, Apple’s system photo picker gives the app access only to the image you select. Air Tennis reduces that image before saving it locally. Adding a photo is optional.
Audio and haptics
The app plays bundled sound effects and optional on-device speech, and triggers system haptic feedback. It does not request microphone access and does not record audio.
Apple services
Game Center
If you use the global leaderboard, Air Tennis authenticates through Apple Game Center, submits your total number of locally recorded victories and loads leaderboard entries including Game Center display names, ranks and scores. Apple processes this information under its own privacy policy. The developer does not operate a separate leaderboard server.
App Store and StoreKit
The optional Table Tennis purchase and purchase restoration use Apple StoreKit. Apple handles payment and transaction services. Air Tennis reads verified entitlement status to unlock the purchase and does not receive your payment-card details.
Data sent to Air Tennis servers
The reviewed iOS version does not connect to a developer-operated backend and contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDK. The developer therefore does not receive your profile, photo, motion data or match history through the app. Data may still be processed by Apple when you choose to use Game Center, StoreKit/App Store services or iCloud device backup, according to your Apple settings and Apple’s terms.
Retention and deletion
Local profile, match history and training records remain on the device until they are replaced, the app’s data is removed or the app is deleted, subject to any device backups you control. Game Center leaderboard scores and App Store purchase records are managed by Apple. To request changes concerning Apple-held data, use Apple’s privacy controls.
Children
Air Tennis is not designed to collect personal information from children through a developer-operated service. A parent or guardian should supervise device permissions, the optional profile photo, purchases and Game Center use where appropriate.
Changes
This policy may be updated if the app’s features or data practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
